Description
Buxus sempervirens var. bullatus elaborates this alkaloid which furnishes colourless needles from Me2CO. It has a specific rotation of [α]25D - 99° (c 0.40, EtOH). Catalytic hydrogenation yields the dihydro derivative with m.p. 215-7°C and specific rotation of [α]25D+ 37° (c 0.45, EtOH).
