Cyanoacetylurea is an intermediate in synthesizing Uridine (U829910), a nucleoside widely distributed in nature. Uridine is one of the four basic components of ribonucleic acid (RNA)
Application
Cyanoacetylurea has been used as starting material for the synthesis of a variety of heterocycles being easily prepared from low cost materials. It was used to synthesise uracils fused with different heterocyclic rings. It was also be used to synthesize caffeine, SDM, etc.
