Uses
Ethyl 2-Methoxypropanoate is used in the preparation of potent dual PPARα/γ agonists as anti-diabetic agents. Also, it is an intermediate used to synthesize 2-Methoxypropyl Acetate (M267230), which causes moderate irritation, significant reduction in body weight development and thymic atrophy in rats as well as pronounced prenatal toxicity in rats.
