It has been reported that?5,7-dinitro-8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives exhibit higher antimycobacterial activity than ciprofloxacin (C482500)?against M. abscessus and M. Smegmatis. In addition,?5,7-Dinitro-8-quinolinol has been employed to investigate structure-activity relationships of nitroxoline derivatives that may provide new insights on developing novel cathepsin B inhibitors.
