Smilagenin (10 μM; 24 hours) increases neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurotrophic factor (BDNF) mRNA level by promoting CREB phosphorylation in 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridimium (MPP + ) treated SH-SY5Y cells.
