以甲基三苯基溴化鏻和4-(3,5,5,8,8-五甲基-5,6,7,8-四氢萘-2-羰基)苯甲酸甲酯为起始原料，通过Wittig反应合成4-(1-(3,5,5,8,8-五甲基-5,6,7,8-四氢萘-2-基)乙烯基)苯甲酸甲酯。在合成过程中，发现化合物35的晶体适合进行X射线衍射分析。为了完成贝沙罗汀的合成，首先利用粗制的单甲基对苯二甲酰氯（36）对化合物35进行Friedel-Crafts酰化反应，得到酮类化合物37。随后，通过Wittig反应将酮37转化为烯烃酯38。最后，烯烃酯38在氢氧化钾作用下进行皂化反应，接着用盐酸水溶液酸化，得到目标产物贝沙罗汀（39）（方案2）。
