嗜热脂肪地芽孢杆菌性质、用途与生产工艺
嗜热脂肪地芽孢杆菌（Bacillus stearothermophilus）属嗜热性需氧芽孢杆菌，但兼有厌氧的特性，细菌繁殖体G兰氏染色阳性呈紫色，细菌芽胞孔雀绿着色。嗜热脂肪地芽孢杆菌比较容易识别且对人体没有危害性，一般作为空间消毒的指示生物。
嗜热脂肪地芽孢杆菌最佳生长温度55～60℃，其所产芽孢无致病性、无热原、无毒，且对压力蒸汽的抵抗力在大多数微生物中最强，因此常被用作检查高压蒸汽灭菌消毒效果的指标菌。
