Reactant for reversible aminal formation
Reactant for synthesis of:
- Annulated N-heterocyclic carbene ligands
- M3 Muscarinic receptor antagonists
- Selective 5-ht5A receptor antagonists
- Ternary platinum(II) complexes
Uses
2-Piperidinemethanamine is used in the synthesis of compounds exhibiting anti-osteoclast and anti-osteoblast activity. It also is used in the synthesis of potent antibacterial.
Purification Methods
Dry (over Na2SO4) and distil the piperidine under vacuum from KOH. It has been purified via the Reinekate salt (m 173-174o) and its dipicrate salt (m 201o, from H2O). [Norton et al.
