Chemical Properties

Glyceryl trimanchioleate is a mixture of fatty acid glycerides, wherein the main component is glyceryl dimanchioleate. Waxy solid or fine powder, melting point is about 70℃. Soluble in chloroform, almost insoluble in water and ethanol.

Behenin can be used as excipient and forming agent.

It has a role as a plant metabolite and an antineoplastic agent. It is a 1-monoglyceride and a fatty acid ester. It is functionally related to a glycerol and a docosanoic acid.
