White powder or colorless crystals;
odorless; tasteless. Becomes yellow on heating,
returning to white on cooling. Darkens on exposure
to light.
Soluble in fuming nitric acid (prolonged heating),
hot concentrated sulfuric acid, hot ammonium carbonate or a
