25-Hydroxy Cholesterol-d6, is the labeled analogue of 25-Hydroxy Cholesterol (H918030), which is an oxygenated derivative of Cholesterol (C432501); an oxysterol. An inhibitor of human immunodeficiency virus replication in vitro. It also induces apoptosis in human monocytic cell lines as well as inducing apoptosis in CEM cells associated with negative regulation of c-Myc.
일반 설명
25-hydroxycholesterol (25HC) is synthesized from cholesterol in the presence of oxygen and enzyme cholesterol 25-hydroxylase and the conversion is dependent on nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) during toll-like receptor activation. 25HC is catabolized to 7α-hydroxylated sterol. 25-hydroxycholesterol-d6 is the deuterated form of 25-hydroxycholesterol.
Biochem/physiol Actions
25-hydroxycholesterol inhibits cholesterol biosynthesis by downregulating the function of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase. It is found to be implicated in atherosclerosis. 25-hydroxycholesterol levels are known to be increased in hypercholesterolemic condition.
