Immediate steps should be taken to limit its spread to the environment. Since DIBROMODIFLUOROMETHANE is a liquid DIBROMODIFLUOROMETHANE can easily penetrate the soil and contaminate groundwater and nearby streams. DIBROMODIFLUOROMETHANE is used as a fire extinguishing agent.
