| CERIUM(IV) OXIDE-YTTRIA Usage And Synthesis |
Uses | YDC-10 can be used as an electrolyte in the fabrication of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). A thin film of YDC-10 (~17.5 nm) effectively reduces the cathode/interfacial energy by 0.1 eV and increases the exchange current density by a factor of 4. YDC-10 can be operated with a temperature range of 300° - 500°C. | Uses | YDC-20 can be used as an electrolyte in the fabrication of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Yttria doped ceria exhibits high ionic conductivity, low activation energy and small grain boundary resistance. The effect of microstructure on the electrolytic properties was investigated in detail. |
