Adrenochrome is a hormone and neurotransmitter released by the adrenal glands. Adrenochrome will increase the contractility of the heart, dilate the blood vessels of the heart, liver, and bones, and constrict the blood vessels of the skin and mucous membranes.
Adrenochrome is a hemostatic agent that promotes clotting, preventing blood loss from open wounds. It is an oxidation product of Adrenochrome which enhances the microcirculatory tone.
