The appearance of 1,4-butanediol is colorless or light yellow oily liquid. Flammable, freezing point 20.1 ℃, refractive index 1.4461. Soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, slightly soluble in ether. It is hygroscopic, has a bitter odor, and is slightly sweet in the mouth.

BDO can produce tetrahydrofuran (THF), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), γ-butyrolactone (GBL) and polyurethane resin (PU Resin), coatings and plasticizers;

Product Application:

1,4-Butanediol is used as a solvent and a moisturizing agent, and is also used to make plasticizers, pharmaceuticals, polyester resins, polyurethane resins, etc.

1,4-Butanediol is an important organic chemical and fine chemical raw material, and is the basic raw material for the production of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) engineering plastics and PBT fibers;

1,4-Butanediol is used as a chain extender and polyester raw material for the production of polyurethane elastomers and flexible polyurethane foams;

Esters made from 1,4-butanediol are good plasticizers for cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polyacrylates and polyesters;

1,4-Butanediol has good hygroscopicity and flexibility, and can be used as gelatin softener and water-absorbing agent, as a treatment agent for cellophane and other unused paper;

1,4-Butanediol can also prepare N-methylpyrrolidone, N-vinylpyrrolidone and other pyrrolidone derivatives;

1,4-Butanediol is also used in the preparation of vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides and as a solvent, plasticizer, lubricant, wetting agent, softener, adhesive and brightener in the electroplating industry for various processes.
