Dihydromyricetin (DMY), also known as dihydromyricetin flavonoids, and ampelopsin, is a wild woody vine plant (vine tea) extract from the Grape family and the genus Ampelopsis. The high-purity dihydromyricetin is a white needle shaped crystalline powder. Structural formula:

Myricetin, also known as baybarry flavonoid, is a flavonoid alcohol compound extracted from the bark of the Myricaceae plant Myricetin. High purity myricetin is a yellow needle shaped crystalline powder. Structural formula:

Both have antibacterial properties, regulating blood sugar and blood lipids: protecting the liver, reducing the damage of hexanol to the liver, and having antioxidant effects. Widely used in industries such as medicine, food, health products, and cosmetics.

Dihydromyricetin can be used to produce myricetin. Mix dihydromyricetin with alcohols, then add sodium hypochlorite solution and catalyst. After the reaction is complete, continue adding sodium hypochlorite solution to obtain myricetin. In this method, the alcohol is methanol or ethanol, and the catalyst is anhydrous aluminum trichloride or anhydrous iron trichloride.
