EGF分子背景
人表皮生长因子（EGF）也称为HOMG4和URG，是一种通过与其受体EGFR结合在调节细胞生长、增殖和分化中起重要作用的生长因子。表皮生长因子存在于人类血小板、巨噬细胞、尿液、唾液、乳汁和血浆中。EGF是EGF蛋白家族的创始成员。这个蛋白质家族的成员具有高度相似的结构和功能特征。所有家族成员都包含一个或多个保守氨基酸序列的重复。唾液EGF的生物学效应包括口腔和胃食管溃疡的愈合、胃酸分泌的抑制、DNA合成的刺激以及粘膜对胃酸、胆汁酸、胃蛋白酶和胰蛋白酶等管腔内损伤因素以及物理、化学和细菌因子的保护。由于EGF增加了患癌症的风险，抑制它可以降低癌症的风险。
