TIMM10B (Translocase of Inner Mitochondrial Membrane 10B) belongs to the TIM10 chaperone family, which facilitates the import and assembly of hydrophobic proteins into the mitochondrial inner membrane. It functions as part of the TIM9-TIM10 complex, guiding precursor proteins from the intermembrane space to the inner membrane. TIMM10B shares homology with TIMM10 (TIMM10A) but is encoded by a separate gene, with potential tissue-specific expression differences.

Antibodies targeting TIMM10B are typically developed using recombinant protein fragments or synthetic peptides to ensure specificity. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry to investigate TIMM10B expression, localization, and interactions.
