**Background of GCET1 Antibody**

GCET1 (Germinal Center B-cell Expressed Transcript 1), also known as **SERPINA9**, is a member of the serine protease inhibitor (serpin) superfamily. It is specifically expressed in germinal center (GC) B-cells, playing a potential role in regulating apoptosis and cell survival during the GC reaction, a critical process in adaptive immunity. Structurally, GCET1 encodes a 42 kDa protein that may inhibit proteases involved in cellular pathways, though its precise physiological substrates remain under investigation.

GCET1 gained attention as a biomarker for classifying B-cell lymphomas. Studies show that GCET1 is highly expressed in germinal center B-cell-like diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (GCB-DLBCL), distinguishing it from activated B-cell-like (ABC) DLBCL subtypes. This specificity makes GCET1 antibodies valuable tools in immunohistochemistry (IHC) for lymphoma diagnosis and subtyping, aiding in prognostic stratification and therapeutic decisions.

However, GCET1's role in oncogenesis is debated. While overexpression is linked to GC-derived lymphomas, its function may vary contextually, influencing cell survival or apoptosis depending on microenvironmental signals.
