The protein has a calculated MW of 7.8 kDa. The protein migrates as 12 kDa and 14-18 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

肿瘤坏死因子受体超家族成员17（TNFRSF17）又称B细胞成熟蛋白（BCMA）、CD抗原CD269，是TNF受体超家族成员。该蛋白包含一个TNFR-Cys重复序列，表达于成熟B细胞中，但在T细胞或单核细胞中不表达。作为TNFSF13B/BLyS/BAFF和TNFSF13/APRIL的受体，TNFRSF17能促进B细胞存活并参与调控体液免疫，同时可激活NF-κB和JNK信号通路。
