白细胞介素5（IL-5）是一种由2型辅助T细胞和肥大细胞产生的白细胞介素。作为造血家族成员的TH2细胞因子，IL-5在人类中由115个氨基酸构成（小鼠为133个氨基酸）。与此细胞因子家族其他成员（即IL-3和GM-CSF）不同，该糖蛋白的活性形式为同源二聚体。
IL-5长期被认为与多种过敏性疾病的发病机制相关，包括过敏性鼻炎和哮喘。在这些疾病中可观察到循环系统、气道组织及诱导痰中嗜酸性粒细胞数量显著增加。鉴于嗜酸性粒细胞与过敏性疾病（特别是过敏性哮喘）病理的高度相关性，学界广泛推测嗜酸性粒细胞在该疾病病理过程中起重要作用。靶向IL-5的药物包括美泊利单抗（mepolizumab）和瑞利珠单抗（reslizumab）。
