This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, followed by an Avi tag (Avitag™).
The protein has a calculated MW of 21.0 kDa. The protein migrates as 26-28 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

背景介绍
白细胞介素-1β（IL-1β）亦称分解素，是一种由IL1B基因编码的细胞因子蛋白。IL-1β前体经半胱天冬酶1（白细胞介素1β转化酶）剪切后，再通过胞质巯基蛋白酶裂解形成成熟IL-1β。
在结构上，IL1β属于相关多肽家族，人类中其氨基酸同源性约为21%。这两种蛋白可由多种细胞在炎症因子、感染或微生物内毒素刺激下产生。虽然IL1α与IL1β受独立调控，但它们结合相同受体并发挥相同的生物学效应。
IL-1β是白细胞介素1细胞因子家族成员，由活化巨噬细胞以前体蛋白形式分泌，经半胱天冬酶1（CASP1/ICE）蛋白水解激活。该细胞因子是炎症反应的重要介质，参与细胞增殖、分化和凋亡等多种细胞活动。研究发现，该细胞因子在中枢神经系统诱导环氧化酶-2（PTGS2/COX2）的表达，这一过程与炎症性痛觉过敏密切相关。IL1B基因与白介素1家族其他8个基因共同构成2号染色体上的细胞因子基因簇。
