Lys-γ3-MSH (human) is a melanocortin peptide derived from the C-terminal fragment of POMC, containing 27 amino acids in its sequence. Lys-γ3-MSH (human) enhances the steroidogenic response of rat adrenal glands to adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). Lys-γ3-MSH (human) is an effective lipolytic activator with an apparent EC50 of 3.56 nM. Lys-γ3-MSH (human) activates hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) and perilipin A, leading to lipolysis.
