Lasioglossin III is one of three novel structurally related pentapeptides called lasioglossins. LL-III was isolated from the venom of the colony wasp Lasioglossum latices. LL-III has strong antibacterial activity against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, low hemolysis, degranulation activity of mast cells, and the ability to kill various cancer cells in vitro.
