IL-4, also known as Interleukin-4, is a cytokine (a type of signaling protein) that plays a crucial role in the immune system. It stimulates B cells to produce IgE antibodies, which are involved in allergic reactions such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, and allergic rhinitis.
