Made from acridone. Acridone is obtained by cyclizing diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid with sulfuric acid, and then reducing it to 9,10-dioxane with pentanol and sodium to oxidize to obtain acridine. The physical properties of acridine:
Colorless needle crystal. The density is 1.005. The boiling point of 346 ° C, the melting point of 111 ° C (sublimation). Very slightly soluble in hot water, soluble in ethanol, ether and carbon disulfide. Both vapor and solution are irritating. The dilute solution is blue fluorescent.

The use of acridine:
