Antimony(III) acetate is a catalyst used in the production of synthetic fibers.Antimony(III) acetate was used in the one-pot three-component synthesis of multigram quantities of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols from the condensation between aldehydes, 2-naphthol and acetamide under solvent-free conditions at ambient temperature.

It can be prepared by the reaction of antimony(III) oxide with acetic acid:Sb2O3+ 6 CH3CO2H → 2 Sb(CH3CO2)3+ 3 H2O
Safety Profile
