Dichloride (triphenylphosphine) palladium is a palladium complex containing two triphenylphosphines and two chlorine ligands. This yellow complex is commonly used in palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions, such as Sonogashira coupling reactions. The complex has a square planar molecular structure. The compound is thought to have both "cis" and "trans" structures. This compound is a commonly used commercially available reagent that can be prepared by reacting palladium chloride with triphenylphosphine, which is also an intermediate in the preparation of tetra-(triphenylphosphine) palladium (Pd(PPh3)4).

Use

1. As a catalyst, it is used in Suzuki, Kumada, Negishi and other coupling reactions

2. Halogenation catalyst. Such as halogenated aldehydes, carboxylic acids, acid amines and so on. Alkane halides can also react with acetylene to form alkyne compounds with increased carbon chains.

3. Use carbonyl oxide alkylation of halides, substitution reaction of aryl halides and vinyl halides. Synthesis of aldehydes, amides and lactones.
