Steps:

General procedure: A mixture of benzoimidazole (1.18 g, 10 mmol), 3,6-dichloropyridazine(1.49 g, 10 mmol), sodium (0.23 g, 10 mmol)in 40 mL anhydrous THF was refluxed for 5 h under N2. When the reaction was completed, the solution was cooledand the solvent evaporated. The crude product was purifiedby silica gel column chromatography (petroleum ether/ethyl acetate = 1:10), a pale yellow solid was obtained, yield 69.4%.
