Yield:88-10-8 58.9%

Reaction Conditions:

with sodium hydrogencarbonate in dichloromethane at 0 - 5;

Steps:

2.11. General procedure for the synthesis of N,N-disubstituted carbamoyl chlorides (6b-j)

General procedure: A solution of the secondary amine (5, 30 mmol) in dichloromethane(5 ml) was added dropwise, over half an hour, to a stirred slurry of sodium bicarbonate (5.04 g, 60 mmol) and triphosgene (5.94 g, 20 mmol)in dichloromethane (30 ml) at 0-5 C. The reaction mixture was left towarm to room temperature, and then stirred for 8-12 h. The completion of the reaction was confirmed by using nitrous acid identification test foramines. The mixture was then filtered, and the filtrate was dried under reduced pressure to give the carbamoyl chloride crude product. The crude product was distilled under reduced pressure or purified by chromatography on silica using petroleum ether-dichloromethane as mobilephase, to give the desired product [24].
