Nitroalkene derivative of oleic acid (OA-NO2) inhibits lipopolysaccharide-induced secretion of proinflammatory cytokines in macrophages independent of nitric oxide formation, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARγ) activation, or induction of heme oxygenase-1 expression.
