6-(Methylthio)purine can react with 1-bromo-2-chloro-ethane to produce 6-methylsulfanyl-9-vinyl-9H-purine. This reaction will need reagent NaOH, catalyst (C8H17)4NBr, and the menstruum benzene and H2O.
