cetyl esters is used in formulations to give body to emulsions. They are also formulation stabilizers and thickeners. Cetyl esters are produced by combining various fatty esters with cetyl palmitate. They are generally indistinguishable from natural spermaceti wax in terms of composition and properties, and are its synthetic version.
