| ADOXAL Usage And Synthesis |
Chemical Properties | 2,6,10-Trimethyl-9-undecenal is
a colorless to slightly yellow liquid with an intense aldehyde, waxy, slightly floral
odor. It is synthesized from a hydrogenated pseudoionone (primarily the tetrahydro
compound) and an alkyl chloroacetate by means of a glycidic ester condensation;
this is followed by hydrolysis and decarboxylation.
