Plumepoppy Extract NEW

Clinical studies have shown that Plumepoppy Extract has antibacterial and bactericidal effects on most of the bacteria in the mouth, and interferes with the adhesion of bacteria to the newly formed dental membrane. The clinical trials of toothpaste and mouthwash containing sanguinarine extract (SaE)/ zinc chloride showed that the dental plaque was reduced in all 7 subjects by using toothpaste containing 0.075%SaE and 2.0% or more zinc chloride and mouthwash containing 0.03%SaE and 0.2% zinc chloride. Gum health improved, and 3 of them experienced results after 6 months. The effect of short-term trials needs to be further confirmed. The mechanism of sanguinarine action needs further investigation. The contribution of zinc chloride and sanguinarine to the activity of the complex is unclear. Commercially available sanguinarine toothpastes are formulations containing cationic antimicrobials and anionic surfactants (sodium lauryl sulfate), in which sanguinarine (cationic antibacterial agent) retains its antibacterial activity, for reasons that remain unclear.
