Chemical properties: soluble in ethanol, chloroform, and carbon tetrachloride, slightly soluble in water and ether. It can be hydrolyzed into succinic acid with hot water.

Usage: Used for manufacturing pharmaceuticals, plasticizers, adhesives, etc. It is a raw material for coatings, pharmaceuticals, synthetic resins, and dyes. It is used in medicine to produce vitamin A and sulfonamide drugs. Pesticides can be used to produce fungicides, insecticides, and plant growth regulators. Succinic anhydride can also be used to produce plasticizers.
