2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate is mainly used in the production of thermosetting resins, hydroxy acrylic resins, adhesives, fiber treatment agents and modifiers for synthetic resin copolymers.  The preparation method is as follows:  trifluoroethanol and methacryloyl chloride carried out an esterification reaction under the protection of a polymerization inhibitor, and then was purified to give 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate.

with 1-methyl-1H-imidazole at 20; for 4 h;

Steps:

15.0 g of 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol and 9.8 g of 1-methylimidazole were placed in a glass reaction vessel, and 10.5 g of methacrylic acid chloride was added dropwise at room temperature and stirred for 4 hours. After the completion of the reaction, the product liquid was 33.9 g, and as a result of analyzing this reaction product solution,The reaction product liquid is methacrylic acid15.8 g of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ester as an ionic liquidIt contained 11.1 g of 1-methylimidazole hydrochloride
