[0123] In the above reaction, to a flask equipped with magnetic stirrer and reflux condenser were added acetic acid (5 mL), 3-methyl-2-butanone (1.67 mL), and p- hydrazinobenzenesulfonic acid (1 g), and the mixture heated to reflux for three hours, and then cooled until a pink solid precipitated as product. Compound 15 (1.24 g), was obtained as wine-colored crystals in a yield of 97%. 1H NMR (500MHz, DMSO): δ 7.78 (1H, s), 7.64 (d, 1H), 7.48 (d, 1H), 2.5 (s, 3H), 1.37 (s, 6H).
