8.5. Typical procedure for N-deprotection

General procedure: Z-Phe-Morpholine 14 (732 mg)was dissolved in ethanol (30 mL)and added to palladium-on-carbon (140 mg, 10%) under an atmosphereof nitrogen. Ethanol (30 mL) and acetic acid (97.8 mm,1.5 equiv) were added. The reaction was placed under an atmosphereof hydrogen and stirred for 48 h. The reactionwas quenchedwith nitrogen gas and celite, filtered and the residue washed.Removal of the solvent in vacuo gave the product.
