3.1.2 General Procedure for 2-haloarylisothiocyanate
General procedure: To a stirred solution of THF (2 ml), respective isothiocyanate(0.5 mmol) was added in slowly and followed byCuX2(1 eq) and BHT (3 eq) were added slowly and thereaction mixture was stirred for 6 h at room temperature.The progress of the reaction was investigated by TLC (5%ethylacetate in hexane). After finish the reaction, the reactionmixture was washed with water (4 ml) and ethylacetate(6 ml) for 3 times. Both organic and aqueous layerswere separated and the organic layer was concentrated byusing rotary evaporator and the crude mixture was purifiedby silica gel (60-120 mesh) column chromatography usingEthylacetate in Hexane as eluent to obtain a 2-halophenylisothiocyanate as oily liquid
