(88a) (2R,3R)-3-aminobutan-2-ol (2R,3R)-3-(Dibenzylamino) butan-2-ol ([α]23D-82°, c: 1.60, chloroform solution) (2.70 g, 10.0 mmol) synthesised according to a method known to the public (J. Org. Chem., 2006, 71, 6420.) was dissolved in methanol (20 mL), and palladium hydroxide carbon (0.85 g) was added, followed by stirring at 60psi and at room temperature for 4 hours under hydrogen atmosphere. After Celite filtration, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure to afford the desired compound (0.73 g, yield 82%) as a colorless liquid. 1H-NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz): δ 1.10 (3H, d, J=6.6 Hz), 1.17 (3H, d, J=6.3 Hz), 2.60-2.67 (1H, m), 3.31-3.37 (1H, m).
