Steps:

Example 2 N'-(3-thioxo-3H-1,2,4-dithiazol-5-yl)-N,N-dimethylmethanimidamide (1) Dimethylformamide dimethylacetal (154.2 g, 1.29 mol) was added dropwise to a stirred solution of 5-amino-3H-1,2,4-dithiazole-5-thione (185.2 g, 1.23 mol) in anhydrous DMF (700 mL) over 30 min at 20-25° C. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 h, and ether (600 mL) was slowly added. The precipitate was filtered off, washed on the filter with ether (3*200 mL), and dried in vacuo to give 213.9 g (84.5%) of the title compound 1 as a lemon-yellow crystalline material.
