Midoca dipropionate is a new type of animal-specific antiprotozoal chemical drug for the treatment and prevention of various babesiosis, piriformis, trypanosomes, eperythrocytes, anaplasma borderline and Theileria various diseases caused. It can be synthesized by the reaction of imidazolide and ethyl acetate.

Steps:

Sequentially add the crude imidazolide (85g, 0.24mol) and 340mL ethyl acetate into a 1L three-necked flask,Heat and stir to reflux, the solids are all dissolved, add 4.3g activated carbon, reflux and stir for 0.5h,Filter, stir the filtrate to room temperature, add propionic acid (39.2g, 0.53mol) dropwise, after about 0.5h, a large amount of white solid precipitates out, cool to 510, stir and crystallize for 2h,Filter, wash the filter cake with a small amount of ethyl acetate, and dry the product under vacuum to obtain white solid imidazolide dipropionate (110.8 g, 93percent).
