2-Aminothiazole-4-carboxamide is a useful intermediate for organic synthesis and other chemical processes. | [Synthesis]
General procedure for the synthesis of 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylic acid from ethyl 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylate: 3.0 g of ethyl 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylate was dissolved in 100 mL of ammonia, and the reaction was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was concentrated to dryness and left to precipitate needle-like crystals. The crystals were collected by filtration and washed several times with cold water to remove impurities. Finally, the product was dried at room temperature to give 1.9 g of 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxamide in 76% yield with a melting point of 208-211 °C. | [References]
