Tert-butyl (S)-(1-(1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)-3-(3-fluorophenyl)propan-2-yl)carbamate (9.0 g, 22.6 mmol) was used as a raw material and dissolved in dichloromethane (DCM, 200 mL). To this solution was slowly added a dioxane solution (56 mL, 226 mmol) of 4 M hydrochloric acid at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred for 12 hours at room temperature. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was filtered and the solid was washed with dichloromethane (50 mL) to afford the white solid product (S)-2-(2-amino-3-(3-fluorophenyl)propyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione hydrochloride (7.8 g, 99% yield). The product was analyzed by LCMS (ES), m/z 349 (M + H)+. | [References]
