Green silicon carbide is suitable for processing cemented carbide, glass, ceramics, and non-metallic materials, as well as semiconductor materials, high-temperature silicon carbide heating elements, and far-infrared source substrates. The manufacturing method of green silicon carbide is the same as that of black silicon carbide, but it requires higher purity raw materials and is formed in a resistance furnace at a high temperature of around 2200°C. It is green, semi-transparent, and hexagonal in shape. Its SiC content is higher than that of black silicon carbide, and its physical properties are similar to those of black silicon carbide, but it is slightly more brittle. It also has good thermal conductivity and semiconductor properties.

Green silicon carbide is an inorganic salt compound with the following applications: 1. In the non-ferrous metal smelting industry: Green silicon carbide is used for high-temperature indirect heating materials due to its high strength, good thermal conductivity, and impact resistance. 2. In the steel industry: Green silicon carbide's corrosion resistance, thermal shock wear resistance, and good thermal conductivity extend the service life of large blast furnaces. 3. In metallurgical ore processing: Green silicon carbide has strong wear resistance, and its hardness is second only to diamond, making it an ideal material. 4. In the building materials, ceramics, and grinding wheel industries: Utilizing its characteristics, thermal conductivity, thermal radiation, and high-temperature strength, it is used in slab kilns. It not only reduces kiln capacity but also increases furnace capacity, product quality, and shortens the production cycle. It is also an ideal indirect material for sintering ceramic glazes. 5. Energy-saving applications: Utilizing its good thermal conductivity and thermal stability, it is used in heat exchangers, saving 20% and 35% of fuel consumption and increasing productivity by 20-30%.
