Yellow-brown powder. Insoluble in water, but brownish-yellow in sodium sulfide solution. Partially soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, producing a yellow precipitate upon dilution. Slightly discolors in alkaline hydrosulfite solution, completely fades in sodium hypochlorite, and turns dark orange in concentrated sulfuric acid. | [Uses]
Sulphur yellow 2 is mainly used for dyeing cotton, linen, viscose fibers, and vinylon, and also for leather coloring. It can be used for color mixing, producing shades such as grass green, beige, ginger yellow, yellowish brown, dark brown, dark green, and dark gray. | [Definition]
