Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Uses]
Trifluoroacetic acid hydrazide is used in chemical synthesis applications. It is used in the preparation of sitagliptin intermediates, pyridazinone derivatives and fluoronitrocarboxylic acid hydrazides, among other organic compounds. | [Synthesis]
Step 2 Preparation of trifluoroacetohydrazide: Ethyl trifluoroacetate (14.2 g, 0.10 mol) and hydrazine hydrate (5.54 g, 0.11 mol) were dissolved in ethanol (25 mL), and heated and refluxed for 6 hours. After the reaction was completed, the solvent was removed by distillation under reduced pressure, and the resulting residue was dried under vacuum to obtain trifluoroacetohydrazide (12.3 g, 96% yield), the product was a transparent oil, which was solidified after standing. | [References]
