Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Description]
5-Butyl-4-phenyl-6-[4-(phenylmethoxy)phenyl]-2-pyrimidinamine is an inhibitor of microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1 (mPGES-1; IC50s = 117 and 60 nM for the human and mouse enzymes, respectively).1 It inhibits LPS-induced prostaglandin E2 (PGE2; ) production in mouse peritoneal cells (IC50 = 31 nM). In vivo, 5-Butyl-4-phenyl-6-[4-(phenylmethoxy)phenyl]-2-pyrimidinamine (25 mg/kg) reduces carrageenan-induced paw edema in rats. | [Uses]
mPGES1-IN-5 (compound 18) is a polysubstituted pyrimidine compound and a submicromolar PGE2 production inhibitor. It exerts its anti-inflammatory effect mainly by inhibiting mPGES-1 and has a significant inhibitory effect on the acute inflammation model in vivo. | [References]
