bk-MDEA is a psychotropic designer drug of the phenethylamine, amphetamine, and cathinone chemical classes. It has been detected in products marketed as bath salts, plant food, and tablets.1,2 2,3-Methylenedioxy-α-ethylaminopropiophenone (hydrochloride) is a positional isomer of bk-MDEA, having the methylenedioxy group attached to the 2 and 3, rather than the 3 and 4, positions.
